The Syngenta Photography Award will be open for registration from September 6, 2012, and the closing date for entries is January 15, 2013.
You will need to submit:
Between 2 - 10 photographs that work together as a whole, share a single title and have a common theme or concept
A biography (max. 500 words in English) in addition to an artist statement. This will include information about the place, time, setting, and situation in which the photographs were shot (max. 500 words in English).
A description of your ideas for a commission project (max. 500 words in English), together with a detailed budget proposal and evidence that the work can be carried out as described.
Note that individual photographs must be your own work, and cannot be older than 10 years. You retain copyright to all your photographs, but agree to allow us to feature them in any material connected with the Syngenta Photography Award – including related exhibitions and conferences.
All photographs and other information must be uploaded via the Syngenta Photography Award website. We cannot accept or return submissions sent by email or on paper. All information submitted will remain confidential.
You can upload color or black and white images with the following properties:
jpeg format
at least 300 dpi
minimum size of 1200 x 2500 pixels
maximum file size of 5 MB
You will be able to change your entry before clicking "submit”. Once you have submitted your entry, it is final and cannot be changed. You will see a confirmation message after your entry has been submitted successfully.
The judging process
The jury will meet to agree on the three winners. The winners will be announced and awarded prizes during the Syngenta Photography Award ceremony in May 2013. The following prizes will be awarded:
1st prize: US$15,000, plus up to US$25,000 for the commission project
